The Initiative Neue Soziale Marktwirtschaft (INSM) has launched an “SOS Campaign,” which is also supported by the Verband Chemiehandel e.V. (VCH). Fischer-Chemie Wiesbaden and Theo Seulberger-Chemie Karlsruhe are likewise showing their solidarity with this campaign. Its goal is to draw attention to the alarming situation of the German economy.
The background: For the second consecutive year, Germany is in a recession, with bleak prospects ahead. Many companies are under pressure, jobs are being cut, and overall competitiveness is declining. This is where the “SOS Campaign” comes in—it calls on companies across all industries to jointly send a strong signal to policymakers.
A key element of the campaign is the nationwide “Economic Warning Day” on January 29, 2025. With local initiatives and a central rally in Berlin, the urgency of the appeal is intended to be underscored.
