More than 100,000 people are employed in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries in the German state of Hesse, according to the industry association Hessen Chemie. However, the sector is currently facing significant challenges: the tense situation became clearly apparent during the press conference of the Verband der Chemischen Industrie (VCI) on Friday.
